Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test or CG PET
Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test or CG PET, as it is commonly known, is a state-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate programmes in different disciplines of Engineering (B.Tech. / B.E.) in various Government aided and private unaided technical institutions of Chattisgarh. CG PET is conducted every year by the Chattisgarh Professional Examination Board, Raipur.
The CG PET exam question paper is a multiple choice objective type question paper comprising of 150 questions in total from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics based on the syllabus of Class XI & Class XII of a recognized Board. There is negative marking for every wrong answer.
All candidates belonging to the general category will be selected in the merit list provided they get a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined in the entrance examination. Similarly candidates from the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) will be selected in the merit list provided they get a minimum of 40% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined in the entrance examination. The merit list of the candidates will be prepared according to the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

A candidate will be eligible to appear for the CG PET Entrance Exam only if:
(a) He / She is a Citizen of India
(b) He / She is a domicile of Chattisgarh.
A person will be considered domicile of Chattisgarh if he / she follows the domicile policies of Chattisgarh which are made public by the Chattisgarh Government.
· To be eligible for appearing in CG PET Entrance Exam a candidate must have taken the subjects of Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects and any one of Biology/Chemistry/BioTechnology as an optional subject in the final exam of Class XII or its equivalent examination.
· Furthermore the candidates belonging to the general category must have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% in their higher secondary or its equivalent exam. For candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) the required minimum aggregate is 40%.
· Also the candidate must have passed the exam from a recognized School / University and have cleared each of the exams individually in first attempt.
As per the Eligibility Criteria provisions of CG PET 2014 Entrance Exam, the age of candidates belonging to the general category should not be less than 17 years and more than 25 years during the time of admission to participate in the exam. A relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit is allowed for candidates belonging to the OBC/SC/ST/PD/Female categories.
There will be a reservation of 15% for the Scheduled Castes, 21% for the Scheduled Tribes and 14% for the NonCreamy layer OBC candidates in CP PET 2014.
There is no Reservation of Seats in CG PET 2014 in the Private Engineering Colleges.
There will be a reservation of 5% seats for Sainik Category candidates.
3% seats will be reserved for Freedom Fighters Category Candidates.
Another 3% seats will be under CG PET 2014 Reservation of Seats for the Physically Handicapped candidates.
30% seats will be under Reservation of Seats for CG PET 2014 for the female candidates of every category.
One seat will be reserved for Kashmiri Migrants in every category.
